Amazon is one of my favorite sites. I have been using it for years. I mostly use it for ordering books. Now that I have a kindle fire, I also use it too get many free e- books. There are many things you can do with Amazon besides purchase books. Read on to find out more.
- I almost always buy used books on Amazon. I can’t remember the last time I bought a brand new book. There “almost new” books look brand new. The only drawback is if you are ordering multiple books you have to pay $4.00 shipping and handling for each book. Sometimes it’s still the better deal because you can get a book for as little as a penny!
- If you are going to buy brand new you can get free shipping on orders that are at least $25.00. This includes more than books.
- Check out the Gold Box Deals. At the top of every Amazon page on the left side is Today’s Deals. This lists the Gold Box Deal which is sometimes up to 75% off. It also lists “Lightening
- Deals” and other discounted offers.
- My favorite way to save with Amazon is free kindle books. I signed up for blog updates from Money Saving Mom. It lists free kindle books several times a week. You can also go directly to Amazon and scroll down to the Kindle Store and type in free kindle books.
- You can also trade in old books, CD’s, movies, and electronics and get store credit. Visit this link to learn more.
- Sign up at Bing.com where every two searches earn you one credit. You can also earn more with bonus tasks. Once you’ve earned 250 credits you can cash them in for a $2.50 Amazon gift card. Also register at Swagbucks.com. Every search gives you a chance to earn a random number of swagbucks from five to 50. You can also earn bonus points. Once you reach 3,150 points you can get a $25 Amazon gift card.
- You can also earn Amazon.com dollars by answering ads looking for help with easy jobs. Sign up at Mechanical Turk.
- Apply for an Amazon.com Visa. If you use it on the site you will be awarded three points for every dollar you spend on eligible purchases. You’ll get two points for every dollar spent at participating drug stores, restaurants, and gas stations. Use it other places and get one dollar. Every 100 points you earn equals one dollar in store credit, which you can redeem immediately.
As you can see there are many ways you can save on Amazon! Do you have a unique way you save with Amazon?

Great tips! You actually get more bang for your buck if you trade in your Swagbucks at 450 for a $5 Amazon card. (You can only order up to 2/day, but you can save them, and you can use them all on the same Amazon order.)
I also like to check sites like Click Filler http://www.clickfiller.com/ (or search for ‘amazon filler’ to find others) to find inexpensive items that qualify for Super Saver Shipping to get to $25.

I am a huge fan of Amazon. I use the subscription service for some grocery items and save quite a bit that way. Love it.
