I love chocolate chip cookies, but they are not exactly healthy. I decided to tweak the Nestle Toll House cookie recipe to make it a little bit healthier. I hope you enjoy the recipe for low sugar chocolate chip cookies.
Low Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies:
2 1/4 cups white whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks ) butter, softened
3/8 cup Domino Light ( half sugar half stevia) (This is a little less than 1/2 a cup.)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 oz package) semi sweet- chocolate chips
I added some leftover M&M’s I had.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
Combine flour, baking soda, salt in a small bowl. Beat butter, Domino Light, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for two minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
I wasn’t sure how these would taste since I used white whole wheat flour. They ended up being one of the best tasting chocolate chip cookies I ever had! They were nice and chewy.
Enjoy!
