I recently read a book by Nick Vujici called Life Without Limits. I’m sure many of you have heard of him through you tube or on TV. For those of you who haven’t , he is a young man from Australia who was born without arms or legs. He does have one little left foot. I have to say it is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read, and I have read a lot of books. Despite the fact that he has no arms and legs he has surfed, swam, skateboarded, played soccer and skydived!
Another chapter that spoke to me was Love The Perfectly Imperfect You. I just love the title alone. Sometimes we think we can’t make a difference until we have it all together. If we wait until we have it all together we will never do anything! God can use ALL of us, including our faults and weaknesses. I am so glad. Nick also talks a lot about our attitude. He says we need to have an attitude of gratitude, action, empathy, and forgiveness.
The very last chapter is titled Make Giving your Mission. He suggests doing what you love to benefit others. I have another book review on the Missional Mom that talks about this very thing. At the end of the new edition of his book there is a personal action plan with questions. There is also a list of programs that will connect you with ways to help others.
I am now reading his second book Unstoppable, the Incredible Power of Faith in Action. I highly recommend both of these books. If you do read them, I would love to hear your thoughts!

This sounds like a great read. I’ll have to read it. There are always people who have it worse than we do, and if this guy can make such an impact, we all can! Thanks for the review. Visiting from SITS.

You have some really great thoughts here — I have several friends who live in chronic pain. I always need reminders of how to live outside my circumstances and let God hem me in instead of them. So glad you linked this post with SDG today!

Thank you for the reminder to live past our ailments – I’ve been lamenting all of the not-so-fun changes that have appeared in my 40’s – I’m nearly 47, and it’s time to get over it!

Ah yes! This guy IS incredible and inspirational. Mindset is SO critical to an overcoming life – no matter what our challenges are. Perception is EVERYTHING. And perception is always a CHOICE : )
