I have been wanting to use chalkboard paint for quite some time now. I picked some up at Joann Fabric. It is the Plaid brand.
I found a wooden plaque with a little boy on the front. ( I forgot to take a picture of it) It even had a hook on the back. I gave it three coats of paint and let each coat dry for at least an hour. I used a bistro chalk marker by Marvy, also at Joann Fabric. When I first started to write with the marker it came out in a big blob. I would test it on paper first to make sure the chalk is running smooth. I didn’t like my design at first so I erased it. Unfortunately it still left a bit of a faded design. I then used a damp cloth. If you use it too much though the paint starts to fade. I may have to give it another coat. I would advise just using a dry cloth. I will have to experiment with different sayings and designs. In another post I talked about the chalkboard stickers I bought.
Have you made anything with chalkboard paint?
Hi Visiting from the CEO blog hop, I am your new FB follower and SITS sista, I have not tried anything yet, but I have the desire too. I have a cork boar, I was thinking about trying it on there, not sure if it would work or not. But, I also was thinking about doing a small wall in my home off, sort of afraid b/c my grandchildren will think it is their play room, lol.

I love using chalk board paint.Besides using it on wood. I used it on thick card stock for making a banner. You just have to let it dry between coats. I have tutorial on my site if you ever want to check it out. Thanks for sharing & linking up @ DearCreatives.com Hope your having a great week!
That is a great idea! I’m going to have to try that.
