Rope Covered Can

I saw a lot of cute ideas for crafts made out of tin cans. I decided to make this rope covered can. It’s also a good way to recycle cans.   I found some at The Dollar Tree.  It came in different colors.  I wanted the natural color, but that is the only color it didn’t carry.  I ended up liking this color though.  I think I’m going to use it as a pencil holder.

All I did was put a dab of hot glue at the top of the can and glued the end of the rope down.  Then I just  kept wrapping.  I put a little dab of glue every so often.  Make sure you don’t use too much because it kind of oozes and then you can see it in between the rows of rope.  It’s that  simple!  I think I am going to try a wooden bowl I have next?
