I had been hearing a lot about the Yonanas banana ice-cream treat maker. I received an Amazon gift card as a gift and thought this would be the perfect time to try it. I liked the idea that it didn’t use sugar or any other ingredients other than fruit. I started out with banana ice-cream because I thought it was most like vanilla soft serve.
When I got my Yonanas maker I cut over ripe bananas in half and froze them. In order to make the ice-cream you need to take the frozen bananas out for at least 10 minutes. I noticed that 15- 20 minutes worked better. If you use other fruit you need to leave it out a little longer. It took about three whole bananas to make this bowl of ice-cream. It is so simple. You take your banana, put it through the chute and push it through with the plunger. You put your bowl underneath and out comes ice-cream! All the parts are dishwasher safe. I have even tried it with a little chocolate sauce on top. Of course then it’s not so healthy anymore! The only complaint I have is that I wish it were a little sturdier. But it does get the job done.
