If anyone knows me, they know I love reading! I love magazines, novels, inspirational books, and everything in between. John Ortberg is one of my favorite authors. He really makes me think about my life and if there is anything I need to work on. He talks a lot about how people relate to each other and God. He goes DEEP. I am almost done with The Me I Want to Be- Becoming God’s best version of you. Some of the topics are surrendering, renewing your mind, using your time, and deepening your relationships.
Another book I just started is called Only Nuns Change Habits Overnight- 52 Amazing Ways to Master the Art of Personal Change. I have read books by Karen Scalf Linamen before and have always enjoyed her sense of humor. This book is easy to read and has lots of bullets and highlighted information. It’s a book about addressing what you really want out of your life.
The last book I have on my nightstand is Peace in the Storm -Meditations on Chronic Pain and Illness by Maureen Pratt. I deal with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia on a daily basis. I have good days and bad. On the bad days this book has helped me greatly. It helps me get through the day and get a new perspective. Maureen speaks from someone who understands the frustrations of living with a chronic illness. She has dealt with lupus for many years. I highly recommend it.
What book have been inspiring to you. I’d love to hear about them!

Hi Tanya! I will have to add Peace in the Storm to my to-read list on Goodreads. As you know from visiting my blog earlier today, I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, another chronic illness. While medicine controls it well, I still have my share of bad days too and need inspiration like this from someone who can relate.
I am an avid reader too. Have you read any books by Diane Chamberlain? She is also a RA patient and I ran into her a couple times at my rheumatologist’s office. Anyway, she’s a fabulous contemporary fiction author and one of her characters in The Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes has RA. I’ve reviewed a few of her books on my blog since meeting her and she’s my favorite author.
I’m sorry to hear you have both fibro and CFS. gentle hugs and prayers are with you my blogging friend and name twin 🙂 Glad to have met you from the SITS Commentathon, I love your beautiful blog!

I don’t know why, but I don’t read as much fiction. When I do find a really good fiction book I can’t put it down!

Hi, Tanya –
Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment!
I like your list of inspirational books – I am always looking for books like this, and I hadn’t heard of any of these 3 before. They all sound great – I love the title of the second one!
Nice to “meet” you this week – I’m sure I will be back!
Sue
P.S. In addition to my CFS blog, I also write a book blog, so we have a love of books in common, too!
