Have you ever stopped to wonder what makes your house a home? Anyone can own or rent a house, but it takes commitment and a concentrated effort, and a lot of love to make it a home. I want my family to feel like their home is a place of rest and refuge from the world. When you’re dealing with people and life situations all day you don’t want to come home to more stress and strife. Here are a few things that make my house a home:
Toby, my adorable, loving toy poodle
My two teenagers who bring life and activity to our home.
My son and daughter laughing together.
All of my books that I have collected over the years.
Flowers that my husband took the time to plant.
Family pictures strewn throughout the house.
Good food and conversation around the table.
Respecting each other and treating each family member with kindness.
A comfy chair to curl up in on a cool day.

Things displayed in your house given by loved ones.
Good nights and I love yous.
Having others over and serving them with love.
There are so many more small and big ways that make our home unique to us. What about you? What makes your house a home? I’d love to hear from you!
