I just got back from my first blogging conference and my head is swimming with ideas and memories. I kept waking up during the night thinking about it. Cedar Point hosted this year’s Bloggy Con 2013, and they were gracious enough to give conference attendees up to five Cedar Point tickets good for three days, and a $25 gift card to spend in the park. It wasn’t hard to convince my family to coke along. I use to live a half hour from Cedar Point and have many childhood memories.
We invited my niece also. My two kids are very close to her. They had a blast and went on all the big rides that I would never go on! Unfortunately I came down with a bad cold the day before the conference. I did not feel up to going on rides. I did get the hotel room all to myself to rest in between classes which was great!

I’ve never been to a blogging conference but it does sound like a lot of fun. I hope one to be able to attend.

Congrats on going to your first blogging conference. I won one last year which was my first, but still had expenses of flight & hotel. All food & conference was paid for, which was breakfast & lunch. I just had a light snack for dinner lunches were big. It was a great experience & learned alot. I am signed up for an online confernce which is more affordable since I don’t live near by where any are. I am hoping to go to another at some point, meeting people in person is great. Swag is always fun! Theresa @DearCreatives

I was lucky that this one was only 2 1/2 hours away, near my in-laws. I was able to get my family to go with me because they gave us five free Cedar Point tickets!

I’ve been to a small local conference in Vancouver and it was AWESOME. It was great to connect with brands in person and to hear what they are looking for in a blogger. As you said, a highlight was definitely connecting with other bloggers who GET IT. It does get lonely behind the keyboard! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Hey – it was nice meeting you at Bloggy Con! It was my first conference too, and my head is spinning with ideas as well. I was actually thisclose to plopping down the $300 for the keyword tool Dan talked about… but I’m still a bit hesitant!
Tanya says
Me too! Seo still confuses me. What do you use right now?
