I’ve noticed a lot of bloggers decorating paper mache letters lately. I love all the different designs they come up with. I bought this letter T from Joanne Fabrics for my first name a few months ago. You can also find them at Michael’s and online. I finally got around to decorating it. I wanted something that would match the fun colors in my craft room.
I decided to paint it a hot pink color and embellish it with bright green polka-a-dots. I put two coats on it and let it dry in between coats. Since I like using things I already have around the house I decided to use milk bottle cap. I dipped it in the paint that I poured onto a paper plate. I also thought it would be fun to decorate the letter with stripes or a flower stamp. You could also decoupage it with photos or pictures from a magazine. The possibilities are endless!
As you can see, I have it on top of my paper organizer that I got at a rummage sale. I think it brightens up the room. What do you think? Have you ever decorated paper mache letters?

I’ve seen a number of crafters decorating letters. I would probably use yarn in a rainbow of colors. Instead of my name I might actually use the letters YARN. ^_^

Hello! I am Trina visiting from the SITS Tribe Challenge. I have a T as well that I have not decorated yet. I am planning to paint a chevron pattern on mine. What kind of paint did you use?
Tanya says
I used acrylic paint Trina.

This is so cute Tanya! I love the bright colors! I have a wooden “A” in my craft room on my wall, but just painted it white to keep it simple and go with the woodwork in the room.
I’m stopping over from the SITS girls…I’m super excited to get to know you better this week!! Do you know if anyone in our group has started a chat thread in the SITS girls forums yet? I was just looking but couldn’t find one.
Talk soon!
