Music has always been a comforter to me. I always am listening for encouraging Christian songs for hard times. When I’m not able to do much else, I can always listen to music. My family has been going though a hard time for the past couple of years. (Something I can’t elaborate on due to respect and privacy.)We all experience hard times whether it’s a divorce, a chronic illness, or financial troubles. I hear my favorite songs on K-Love and my Amazon Alexa. I love hearing new songs that I can add to my playlist. Here are ten more encouraging Christian songs for hard times. You may enjoy my first list of encouraging Christian songs for hard times.
Cory Asbury is a new singer to me. I just heard it for the first time a few weeks ago. The vocals are incredible. It also references to two of my favorite bible verses. The parable of the lost sheep in Matthew 18:12-14. Zephaniah 3:17 is also referenced. It talks about God singing over us. That always encourages me.
Toby Mac I love anything Toby Mac. Actually my toy poodle Toby is named after him because when we got him my son was into Toby Mac. It has a timely message of the only thing we really need is God. He will always come through for us, even during the times we think he’s not. I Just Need U is an upbeat song of encouragement.
Riley Clemmons is also a new artist. Her new song Broken Prayers is a raw and honest song. Her lyrics talk about going through the motions. It goes on to say that God can handle her being real with him. We don’t need to pretend like everything’s OK.
Casting Crowns has had so many good songs over the past few years. They just get better and better. I have two on my previous post of favorite Christian songs for encouragement.
Matt Redman This is such a beautiful song about surrender. Giving all that we have even though we may think it’s not much. God can take whatever we have and multiply it. What an awesome thing!
Tenth Avenue North has always been one of my favorite bands. Their songs are always thought provoking. This is another song about surrender. Letting go and letting God lead your life. I am definitely guilty of thinking I have control. Anxious feelings start to take over if I feel like I’m not in control. When I don’t give up control though it just causes more anxiety.
Elevation Worship This worship band is a new favorite of mine. They remind me of Hillsong United. O Come to the Alter gets me every time. It inspires me to be vulnerable with God and reminds me of that intimate connection I feel when I’m in the middle of a hard place.
Hillsong United So Will I is such a beautiful song. It talks about God creating the world. There’s a verse in the bible that says if no one will praise me the rocks will cry out. (I’m paraphrasing.) Creation is praising God in this song. This song always puts me in a place of worship.
Plumb I love how authentic Plum is. She doesn’t hold back her questioning during tough times. Plumb asks whether she will be brave enough. She asks God for help. I have another song by Plumb on my previous list.
Mercy Me This song has been out for awhile, but I just recently started to really listen to it. It came on my Amazon Alexa when I requested contemporary Christian music. It’s such a powerful song. When I’m feeling defeated and afraid I turn up the song and belt it out. (of course when I’m home alone.) The questions that are asked are raw and honest. I’ve had those same questions. after all the questions this song reminds us just how powerful God is. some days I need that reminder!
I don’t know what I would do without Encouraging Christian songs for hard times. I hope you enjoyed the selection. Are any of your favorite songs on this list? What encouraging Christian songs do you listen to in hard times?
