I love making things out of composition notebooks. There’s so many pretty things you can do with them. My church had a whole pile of old composition notebooks. I didn’t care that it had a rip on the cover since I would be covering it up with pretty paper. I decided to turn the notebook into a handmade medical notebook. Here are the supplies I used to create the notebook.
Here is the composition notebook I used.
I also used wrapping paper I found at The Family Dollar Store, Scotch tape, Modge Podge, and a foam paint brush (I forgot to put that in the picture!)
I cut a piece of the wrapping paper to the size 20 inches long and 10 inches wide.
The paper was folded over the back and front covers. It’s kind of like wrapping a present. Scotch tape was used to keep it in place. It was left there because you couldn’t see it. I also needed something slightly heavy to keep the back cover down. A small magnet was used. The small cut near the spine of the book is there so you can close the notebook.
I also made a small cut at the bottom of the spine. I taped the bottom flaps with Scotch tape.
Now the book can easily close. You can cut around the rounded edges now.
I wanted it to look a bit more decorative so I added a sticker and wrote on it with a scrapbooking pen. You could also use a Sharpie. I also added two flower stickers. You probably can’t tell since my paper has flowers on it also. Now it’s ready to use as you see fit. I record the questions I want to ask my doctor at my next visit. On each page I record which doctor, when my next appointment is, and what questions I want to ask. This really helps me keep everything organized and have a place to jot down my questions that may come up in a day. If I don’t write them down then I tend to forget them at my next appointment. You would also have a place to record the answers. I also have a medicine tracker printable to keep track of your medicine and which doctor prescribed them. How do you keep track of your questions for your doctor? Do you like to make pretty notebooks?

I usually have a little crumbled list stuffed in my pocket book. But now I think I’ll have to make a pretty Doctors question book! 😀

That’s such a great idea to have a medical notebook! I never thought about that. I have post its in my wallet where I have jotted down quesitons. Having this is better because then I can remember everything the doctor has said, suggested, etc. And I have the worst memory, so this would be a definite plus.
My oldest daughter loves art, so she is going to love this suggestion of making mommy a medical question book!

I actually just took my notebook to one of my follow-up appointments yesterday. It was very helpful because I also had room to write down the answers. My memory is bad too!
