- Put a 1/2 cup baking soda in your toilet bowl for light cleaning. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then brush.
- Remove stubborn stains from your toilet bowl by scrubbing with steel wool dipped in baking soda.
- Use baking soda paste to remove mildew stains on grout. Scrub with an old toothbrush and rinse.
- You can clean a tile or no wax floor with a 1/2 cup baking soda in a bucket of warm water. Mop and rinse.
- Sprinkle baking soda in the bathroom trash can after emptying.
- Musty smelling bath towels can be deodorized by adding 1/2 cup baking soda to the rinse cycle.
- Mix baking soda with a few drops of essential oil and put it in a small open jar or dish in your bathroom.
- Sprinkle dirty clothes in a hamper with baking soda while they wait for washing.
- Add 1/2 cup baking soda to your detergent to freshen your laundry and help liquid detergents work harder.
- Add baking soda instead of fabric softener. Add 1/2 cup to the rinse cycle.
- Yellowed linens can be brightened by adding baking soda to the wash water.
- Rinse pool chlorine out of bathing suits in a sink full of water with 1 tablespoon baking soda added.
- Remove black scuff marks on shoes with a baking soda paste. Rub it on and wipe off before polishing.
- Clean rubber on athletic shoes with baking soda sprinkled on a washcloth or sponge.
- To control foot odor and moisture, sprinkle baking soda into clean socks before wearing.
- You can also sprinkle baking soda into shoes to control moisture and odor.
- Add a teaspoon of baking soda to shampoo to help remove buildup from products.
- Remove odors from onions, garlic, etc. with a solution of 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water or liquid soap.
- Soak tired feet in a bowl of warm water with 3 tablespoons baking soda.
- Clean fingernails by scrubbing with a nailbrush dipped in baking soda.
- Give your dog a dry bath by sprinkling it with baking soda. Rub in then brush out.
- To eliminate odors from a litter box, sprinkle in 1/2 cup baking soda.
- You can brush your pet’s teeth by dipping a damp, soft brush in baking soda and brushing gently.
- When urine accidents happen on mattresses, sprinkle with baking soda, let dry thoroughly, then vacuum.
- Rinse combs and brushes by soaking them in a basin of water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Rinse and allow to dry.
